Optometrist (B.Optom, UNSW & M.C.Optom, UK)
Peter obtained his Optometry degree from the University of New South Wales in 1981 and worked in Oxford, England for seven years where he obtained the English Fellowship. He is also a member of the British College of Optometrists M.B.C.O. M.C.Optom (UK).
Peter is a Fellow of the Australian College of Optometry and is a member of the OAA and the CCLSA and has a special interest in eye disease and contact lenses.
Peter opened Forestway Optometry, offering a full range of optometry services, in 1993 and has been looking after the Forest community ever since.
Optometrist (B.Optom, UNSW, Grad Cert Oc Thera, UNSW)
Barney received his Bachelor of Optometry from the University of New South Wales in 2007 and later completed the Graduate Certificate for Ocular Therapeutics. After several years practicing at regional and rural locations around Australia, Barney returned to Sydney.
Barney is a member of the OAA and practices full scope optometry. He has special interest in, and passion for, anterior eye diseases.
Optometrist (B.Optom, UNSW, Grad Cert Oc Thera, UNSW)
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Optometry from the University of New South Wales in 2007 and later completed the Graduate Certificate for Ocular Therapeutics. After several years practicing at regional and rural locations around Australia, Stephanie returned to Sydney.
Stephanie is a member of the OAA and practices full scope optometry. She is especially interested in children’s eye care.
Practice Manager (Opthalmic Dispenser and Contact Lens Instructor)
Sean has a degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing & is a Dispensing Optician with 13 years experience. He is focused on ensuring your spectacles always meet the requirements of your individual lifestyle.
At Forestway Optometry Sean uses his extensive optical knowledge to support the Optometrists in performing additional testing and answering questions relating to our clients’ ocular health or visual requirements. As a fashion forward gentleman he can usually be seen encouraging people to be brave with their frame choices whilst ensuring they fit with your own unique style
Kazue is due to finish her Cert IV in Optical Dispensing soon and her attention to detail and friendly, customer focused approach are perfect for the mixture of clinical and customer care we provide.
When not studying or looking after you in store she enjoys a range of exercise from yoga to body pump. Hopefully this will encourage the rest of us to stick to our own fitness goals!
Kit has worked full time in Forestway Optometry for three years. In that time he has completed numerous Optical Dispensing and business courses. He is now very well qualified to assist our patients with advice on choosing the right type of lenses for their prescription and lifestyle as well as the best type of frame for their prescription. He is also very adept at spectacle repairs of all kinds.
Outside of work, Kit has a keen interest in animals and has completed qualifications at Taronga Zoo (Dubbo) to look after animals. He also has a great eye for detail and style due to his previous experience in interior design and the Arts and Antiques world.
Optical Assistant and Frame Stylist
Having previously worked for QANTAS as a flight attendant for 22 years before moving to the Optical industry, Karen joined the practice in 2010 bringing with her over 8 years of experience in optics
Karen’s natural flare for fashion and great sense of style enable her to offer clients expert advice in choosing the perfect frame for their face. Also, as a multifocal contact lens wearer she is very keen to pass on any feedback and tips to anyone else contemplating Multifocal contacts.
Grace has worked in the practice for the last four years. She has completed a number of Optical Dispensing and business courses and is well qualified to carry out visual field screenings, retinal imaging and take PD measurements . She can provide advice on choosing the right frames and types of lenses for your prescription and lifestyle.
Grace is completing her BSc at Sydney University at the end of 2019.
Rebecca has worked in the practice since the beginning of 2020 and is studying a Bachelor of Vision Science at UNSW with hopes of becoming an optometrist in the future. She is passionate about combining her interest in science with quality patient care, and is well-positioned to assist patients with frame selection, take PD measurements, and perform visual field screenings. Rebecca has lived in the Forest area all her life and loves being able to help provide eyecare to her community with a smile.
She also loves dogs and has a keen interest in languages.
Luke has worked in the practice on a part-time basis, for the last four years. In that time he has attended numerous optical courses and is well position to assist our patients with frame selection, visual field screenings, retinal imaging, PD measurements as well as providing general advice on choosing the right frame for your prescription.
He is also great with information on prescription sunglasses – particularly our premium sunglasses range – Maui Jim’s.
Virginia is responsible for arranging your reminder communications when you are due for your next appointment and following up with a phone call to ensure you do not fall through the gaps.
She loves meeting and talking with new people, which in conjunction with her warm and friendly manner, makes her a great person to discuss your next appointment with when she calls. You can also be assured you are speaking to another local who is an integral part of the in-house team rather than with someone from an outsourced agency.
Virginia also has a diploma in graphic design and loves the beach.
